Submit Student Artwork
Are you a student interested in displaying your artwork on WV.gov? If you are 18 years of age or younger and are interested simply scan your artwork as a JPG image and email it to us using the link at the bottom of the page. Make sure you get your parent or guardians permission before you submit your artwork. Also, you and your parent or guardian must read and accept the following terms in order to submit a drawing to the WV.gov student art gallery. Submission of a drawing to the WV.gov student artwork gallery signifies your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Eligibility
To submit a drawing, you must be 18 years of age or younger and live in West Virginia.
Submission Guidelines
Drawings can only be submitted to WV.gov via email and only drawings that are submitted in a JPG format will be accepted.
Artwork Restrictions
Artwork must be appropriate for posting on a public government website and questionable content will not be considered. WV.gov retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content.
Artist and Copyright
Artwork must be submitted by the original artist with the approval of their parent or legal guardian. Do not submit any artwork created by someone other than yourself. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of the drawing submitted. Your submission of the drawing is your guarantee that you are the creator and copyright holder of the artwork.
Ownership and Use Rights
Artists retain the copyright to their drawings. By submitting your drawing, artists agree to have their submitted drawing displayed on the WV.gov website without any fee or other form of compensation. WV.gov may make and retain copies of the artwork for archival purposes. Posted artwork will be subject to the WV.gov website student artwork use policy. Artwork will be credited to the artist named in the submission. Artwork may be selected for display or use in other West Virginia state government Web pages, with permission from the artist. Parents or Legal Guardians as well as the artist agree that WV.gov may contact them to obtain permission for use of artwork in this way. Drawings will never be used by WV.gov in any manner for advertising or sale. In the event that ownership of any artwork submitted to WV.gov is contested in any manner, WV.gov retains the discretion to reject that artwork and discontinue use of the drawing.
Scanned Image Requirements
Artwork submitted should be formatted to 72 dpi, no larger than 600 by 450 pixels and no smaller than 300 by 225 pixels. Images should be submitted in a high quality JPG format. File sizes must be less than 500K per image. Images must be in natural color.
NOTE: Scanned images will NOT be returned
Modifications Not Permitted
- Do not add borders, frames, watermarks, signatures, or copyright notices.
- Do not add or replace elements in an image.
- Do not use artistic filters.
Permitted Modifications
- You may crop or rotate images, as necessary, as long as the rectangular format is maintained and the size is within the specifications above.
- You may resize images as long as the aspect ratio is maintained.
Artwork Selection
Artwork will be selected on the basis of creativity and image quality. WV.gov will review all submitted drawings. Entries that fail to comply with the artwork guidelines will be rejected. No financial compensation will be provided to companies and/or individuals whose artwork is selected.
Additional Terms and Conditions
WV.gov is not responsible for computer system, hardware, software, or program malfunctions or other errors, failures, or delayed computer transactions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. Furthermore, WV.gov is NOT responsible for: (i) lost, misdirected, misplaced, illegible, unintelligible or incomplete submissions or (ii) any act, failure to act, or delay regarding the transmitting or processing of entries. WV.gov reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend all or any portion of this Student Artwork Gallery without notice if factors beyond WV.gov's control, including technical difficulties, disrupt or corrupt the fair or secure administration or operation of the Student Art Gallery. WV.gov is entitled to interpret these rules as needed and its decisions are final. WV.gov reserves the right to deny any artwork submission that WV.gov has reason to believe is not the original work of entrant, or does not otherwise meet the artwork guidelines.
By submitting your artwork(s), you agree to release and hold harmless WV.gov and its employees, officers, affiliates, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies from any and all damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind resulting from your submission, including infringement of intellectual property rights. WV.gov and its employees, officers, affiliates, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies assume no responsibility or liability for any damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind arising in whole or in part from this submission.
