PIPESTEM, W.Va. – The 20th Annual West Virginia Public Employees Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 16 at Pipestem Resort State Park in Summers County. Pipestem serves as host to this tournament and welcomes state, city, county and public education employees in active employment or retired status.
“Pipestem is an exceptional golf course and it is an excellent time of year for golf play,” said Park Superintendent Dave Caplinger.
Trophies and prizes will be awarded in both Men’s and Women’s Division, Low Gross & Low Net (Callaway System). In addition, there are prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive contests, with an optional skins game plus door prizes. The cost is $50 for each participant and includes greens fee, shared cart, cookout and pre-tourney range balls.
Need a practice round on Sunday, May 15? Practice tee times are available starting at 1 p.m. Call 304-466-1800 or 800 CALL WVA and ask for Pipestem State Park to make reservations. Practice Greens fee and cart are $20 (single rate).
Discount lodging of $62 plus tax on Sunday and/or Monday nights is available. Identify yourself as a tournament participant when making reservations. Deadline to reserve is Monday, May 14, to take advantage of the discount.
