CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Agriculture and Forestry Day at the West Virginia State Legislature will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011. The Division of Forestry also will display its 7-foot-tall Smokey Bear statue.
Tuesday’s Agriculture and Forestry Day at the Legislature is the opening day of the 26th annual A.B. Brooks Memorial Forestry Symposium, which runs through Wednesday, Feb. 9. The annual legislative reception, co-sponsored by the West Virginia Farm Bureau, is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Wednesday’s events include a breakfast program, opening remarks by West Virginia Forestry Association (WVFA) President Donna Reckart and a morning session focusing on legislative topics and current forestry issues.
