Driver’s License Practice Exam Now Available for the iPad and iPhone
4/13/2010
CHARLESTON, W.Va.-Citizens interested in taking the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicle’s driver’s license practice exam can now download the test for free if they use an iPad, IPhone, or iPod Touch.
The application was featured by Fast Company, a website and magazine focused on “uncovering best and ‘next’ practices,” and helping “a new breed of leader work smarter and more effectively,” on their website (http://www.fastcompany.com/1608003/first-egovernmental-ipad-apps-hit-the-app-store) as one of the first “eGovernment” applications available for Apple’s new iPad device.
The application was developed at no cost to the Division of Motor Vehicles by West Virginia Interactive in conjunction with Wilbur Thaxton, DMV’s Manager of Information Services. According to Joe Miller, Commissioner of the DMV, “The new mobile driver license practice exam provides an additional way for citizens to prepare to take their driver’s license exam without the need for a traditional desktop or laptop computer.”
Citizens who do not have access to one of these Apple devices can still take the practice exam online at http://www.transportation.wv.gov/dmv/Driver-Licenses/Pages/SampleTEst.aspx.
