Why:
Gov. Joe Manchin III, along with West Virginia Attorney General Darrell McGraw, will discuss the Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday, a three month long taxpayer benefit, available to all West Virginians. This is the third and final year West Virginia will hold an Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday.

When purchasing Energy Star qualified items for their homes, taxpayers will not have to pay the 6 percent sales tax. In addition, there is a state rebate program on some Energy Star qualified products.

West Virginia businesses, that either manufacture or sell Energy Star qualified products, will be on hand to discuss their products and the impact the holiday is anticipated to have on their businesses.

The governor and attorney general will further explain the environmental benefits of using Energy Star qualified products as well as the legal regulations and taxpayer benefit.
