 Free Workshop to Focus on Marketing Local Wood Products

Charleston, W.Va. – A workshop to help local forest products companies turn hardwood timber into finished products is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2011, in Charleston. Marketing Local Wood Products in the Charleston, WV Metro Region will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 7 at the WVU Kanawha County Extension Office in Kanawha City. The extension office is located at 4700 MacCorkle Avenue SE, Suite 101.

Session topics include researching building permits for prospects, marketing to various audiences and using 3-D design software to support designs and marketing.

The workshop is free and provided through a grant from the United States Forest Service Wood Education and Resource Center. Marketing information is targeted to those forest products companies within Boone, Clay, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Putnam, Raleigh and Roane counties.
