CHARLESTON, W.Va. -Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today ordered all U.S. and State flags at all State facilities be displayed at half-staff from dawn to dusk Saturday, September 21, 2013 in honor of Army Pfc. Ronald C. Huffman of Lashmeet, W.Va.
"Private First Class Ronald Huffman made the supreme sacrifice for our country. His selfless service has brought honor to his family, the citizens of West Virginia, and our country," Gov. Tomblin said.

Huffman enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1950, received basic training, and was deployed to serve in Korea. He was listed as Missing In Action following a battle with Chinese forces on February 12, 1951, near Saemul, South Korea and was reported by the Chinese as being a prisoner of war at Camp Changsong, North Korea where he later died on July 22, 1951 at the age of 18.

Huffman's remains were not positively identified until August 13, 2013. More than 60 years later, his remains have been returned to his West Virginia home. He will be laid to rest September 21, 2013, during graveside services in Princeton, W.Va. with full military honors.
