 Gov. Tomblin Orders State Flags Lowered at State Capitol and In Nicholas County

4/4/2014 CHARLESTON, W.Va. (April 3, 2014) Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today ordered all State flags displayed at the State Capitol Complex and on all State facilities throughout Nicholas County be lowered to half-staff from dawn to dusk on Friday, April 4, 2014, in commemoration of the distinguished life and service of John W. Shelton, former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates.

Shelton was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 1997 as a representative of the 35th District serving Nicholas County and served in that capacity through 2004. During his tenure Delegate Shelton served as Chair of the Committee on Interstate Cooperation and as Vice Chair of the Committee on Roads and Transportation.

Shelton passed away April 1, 2014.
