Governor Cancels Holiday Party Scheduled for this Evening
12/16/2010
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today announced that the Holiday Christmas party scheduled for this evening at the Governor’s Mansion has been canceled due to inclement weather.
The governor and first lady will be hosting guests who have already made their way to the Charleston area this evening.
“Due to the winter weather conditions, I have made the decision to cancel this evening’s scheduled holiday event at the mansion,” Gov. Tomblin said. “However, the first lady and I are happy to welcome guests who have already arrived in town for this evenings gathering. I want to encourage our attendees to be very cautious and use their best judgment during these winter weather conditions.”
Guests who were invited and unable to this evening’s holiday party have the option of attending this Saturday’s function.
Two of the four scheduled holiday parties and an open house have already concluded at the governor’s mansion. The last holiday party for this year is scheduled for this Saturday.
