Governor's Day at the 89th Annual State Fair of West Virginia
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin will host the Governor's Day at the 89th Annual State Fair of West Virginia August 15, 2013. During his visit, the governor will help present the Farming Heritage Award, participate in the Governor's Cup Ceremony and make an announcement highlighting Day to Serve, the collective effort to strengthen communities through volunteer service.
Gov. Tomblin will help present the Farming Heritage Award to Dr. Joseph Cain and family, from Big Bend, at the tent beside the Administrative Building. This award honors an agricultural family and their multi-generation contributions to their community and to West Virginia.
Gov. Tomblin will present the Governor's Cup at the Grandstand.
Gov. Tombin will join leaders of the State Fair of West Virginia, Volunteer West Virginia and 2012 Day to Serve participants to highlight Day to Serve and make an announcement concerning grants available for next month's Day to Serve projects. The announcement will be held on the porch of the West Virginia Building.
