Governor Appoints Randy Mayhew to Director of Protective Services

CHARLESTON, W.Va - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today announced the appointment of Randy Mayhew to director of the West Virginia Division of Protective Services.
"I am pleased to appoint Randy Mayhew as the director of the Division of Protective Services," said Gov. Tomblin. "For the past ten years Randy has demonstrated on a daily basis his dedication to the safety of those who work at and visit the capitol complex. His professionalism is evident to all who work with him."
Mayhew started as a sergeant with the Division of Protective Services in 2001 and was promoted to Deputy Director in 2005. He served twenty-seven years with the Charleston Police Department prior to joining the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety. Born and raised in Gary, West Virginia, Mayhew graduated from West Virginia State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973. Currently residing in Hurricane, he is married to the former Sandra Williams and is the father of two grown children and four grandchildren. He has been Acting Director of Division of Protective Services since March, 2011.
