Charleston, W.Va. - Governor Joe Manchin this week approved the release of $16.8 million in Small Cities Community Development Block Grant dollars that had been outstanding for 18 critical infrastructure projects. More than 4,000 households in these communities will receive improved or new service as a result of these improvements.
“I am very pleased to award these Small Cities Block Grant funds for worthwhile infrastructure projects," Gov. Joe Manchin said. "I am committed to assisting the citizens of West Virginia in improving their quality of life. We’ve proven that we can compete in the global marketplace and attract new business; however, in order to sustain our growth, providing basic services must be an essential piece of the puzzle. These infrastructure projects will assist our communities as they plan and prepare for future growth and development.”
