 Governor Tomblin Appoints Stephanie Bond as Acting Director of the West Virginia Division of Juvenile Services

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today appointed Stephanie Bond as Acting Director of the West Virginia Division of Juvenile Services. The appointment is effective immediately.

"Stephanie's knowledge and experience have guided her throughout her career - in her first position as a counselor and now in her capacity as Acting Director," Gov. Tomblin said. "She has done an outstanding job and I'm confident the youth of our state will continue to benefit from her public service."

The Clarksburg native has worked in juvenile corrections since August 1993. Bond began her career as a Correctional Counselor at the West Virginia Industrial Home for Youth. During her decade long tenure at the Industrial Home, Bond held several positions including Unit Manager and Assistant Superintendent of Treatment and Programs before being appointed Acting Superintendent in December 2003. The following year, Bond was appointed as Superintendent of the facility now known as the Kenneth "Honey" Rubenstein Juvenile Center in Davis, W.Va. where she has since served.

Bond earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Fairmont State College and a Master's Degree in Counseling from West Virginia University. Bond is a member of the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation and the Southern States Correctional Association.

She resides in Preston County.
