CHARLESTON, W.Va. -Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today issued the following statement after receiving Cabinet Secretary of Administration Robert Ferguson's resignation letter, effective today, Feb. 22, 2012.
"The Department of Administration is a customer service organization, ensuring that their state employees have the tools needed to properly and efficiently serve constituents. Over the past seven years, Robert Ferguson has managed the demands of the department and guided its agencies on multiple projects that advanced the state, including the recent OPEB solution. As he departs for the next chapter of his career, I thank Rob for his ongoing commitment to the state of West Virginia," said Gov. Tomblin.
In his resignation letter, Secretary Ferguson cited personal reasons for his decision and discussed his appreciation for his colleagues.
"I truly have been blessed that I have been surrounded by a host of remarkable people," Sec. Ferguson said. "Their courage, commitment, leadership and followership allowed us to realize great achievements."
