CHARLESTON, W.Va –Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin will join White House Drug Policy Director Gil Kerlikowske, United States Senator Jay Rockefeller and United States Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia R. Booth Goodwin at the West Virginia Prescription Drug Abuse Summit.
“According to the West Virginia State Police, prescription drugs account for more abuse than marijuana, heroin, cocaine, crack, methamphetamine, LSD, PCP, Ecstasy and all other street drugs combined,” Gov. Tomblin said. “From law enforcement and policy writers to community members, we each need to come together to fight this epidemic and I look forward to sharing my ideas tomorrow.”
