 Hawks Nest Golf Course Opens for 2011 Golf Season

ANSTED, W.Va. – The Hawks Nest Golf Course will be open for the 2011 Season, according to John Bracken, Superintendent at Hawks Nest State Park.

"The opening date is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2011, and the course will remain open to the public seven days per week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. until mid-November, weather permitting," according to Bracken.

Located on Rt. 60, one mile east of Gauley Bridge, the nine-hole historic course offers unique mountainside fairways perfect for challenging golf set against the natural scenery of the New River Canyon. The on-site golf shop will offer club and cart rentals.

"A mid-April through mid-November golf season pass is available for purchase," said Bracken. Season passes are $300 and the price does not include cart rentals. To purchase season passes or for more Hawks Nest golf information, call the Hawks Nest State Park office at 304-658-5196.
