 November starts the holiday spirit at West Virginia’s state parks

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Late November is the start of the holiday season, and in 2013, West Virginia state parks are getting ready.

“All of the lodge parks will be decorating for the season and encouraging families and friends to visit during these hectic times and enjoy some holiday relaxation and celebrations,” said Sissie Summers, state parks programming coordinator. “It’s a great time for family get-togethers or to just get away for a few days and enjoy some great food and warm fireplaces.”

"Trees of Our Heritage" - A Sunday Open House at Blennerhassett State Park

This is the opening day of Trees of Our Heritage decoration. From 1 to 3 p.m. visit the museum, enjoy refreshments and entertainment. Trees are decorated to depict different cultures and countries. "Trees of Our Heritage" - A holiday tradition at Blennerhassett State Park

"Trees of Our Heritage" are decorated to depict different cultures and countries and staged throughout the Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History. Christmas In The Park at Chief Logan State Park

Tygart Lake State Park – Third Night Free

When visiting Tygart Lake State Park for a minimum of three nights, stay two consecutive nights in the lodge or cottages at normal rates and receive the third night free.
