Plan Now for September Camping Discounts at Beech Fork State Park

7/12/2011
BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. – Camping is fun and popular during the warm summer months, but many prefer pitching their tents during the cooler autumn months. Beech Fork State Park in Cabell County is making fall camping even more attractive by offering substantial discounts in September.

“We’re seeing our regular customers as well as an increase in first-time campers,” said Beech Fork Supt. Matt Yeager. “People are looking to the outdoors for vacations. Camping is an affordable option and the park offers a family atmosphere. The September discounts make camping even more affordable.”

From September 6 through September 30, Beech Fork State Park will have half-off campsite rental rates when camping Sunday - Thursday nights for two or more consecutive nights. "It's a way for us to invite individuals to camp during the week at a reduced rate," Yeager said. The maximum length of stay is 14 nights.

Beech Fork has the state park system's largest campground with 275-sites. Additionally, the park offers year-round vacation cabins, hiking, biking, fishing and an outdoor swimming pool.

Beech Fork State Park has reservable campsites available from Memorial through Labor Day weekends. Other dates are first-come, first-served. "Reservations aren't taken for sites after Labor Day through and until the Friday prior to Memorial Day weekend."

Beech Fork swimming pool is open every day but Monday through Sunday through August 14. The pool will be open weekends only from August 15 until Labor Day weekend.

Deluxe cabins are rented from Monday – Monday; however Beech Fork has a Summer Cabin Reservation Special on their website at www.beechforksp.com/rates.html. From August 8 to September 5, 2011, cabins may be reserved for less than a week on a Monday-Friday (a four-night rental) period or a Friday-Monday (a three-night rental) basis.

Beech Fork State Park offers daily activities Wednesday - Sunday. Beech Fork summer naturalist Kendra Bolen specializes in family-activities, interpretative hikes and recreation. For cabin, camping or activities information, contact Beech Fork State Park, 304-528-5794, for full details.
