HARRISVILLE, W.Va. – “Snakes of West Virginia” is an interpretative presentation featuring herpetologist Jim Fregonara of the W.Va. Division of Natural Resources. The 7:30 p.m. program on Saturday, Aug. 28 at the North Bend State Park lodge conference room, takes a closer look into the amazing world of snakes.
“Several of snakes found in West Virginia are part of the program as we learn about these fascinating and sometimes misunderstood creatures that are very important to our ecosystem,” according to Ken Zebo, park naturalist. All ages welcome. The program is open to the public without charge. Cameras are permitted.
Other upcoming events scheduled at North Bend State Park include: Nature Wonder Weekend, Sept. 17-19; The 10-mile Hike, Oct. 9; A Quilter’s Retreat, Oct. 28-31; and a kids’ Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 30.
North Bend State Park is located in Ritchie County near Harrisville.The park features a lodge, cabins, two campgrounds, lake, full-service restaurant and the North Bend Rail Trail.
