Gov. Joe Manchin today released the following statement after learning about the passing of Delegate Thomas Mike Porter:

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mercer County Delegate Mike Porter.
"He was truly a great representative for his district and this is a terrible loss to the entire state of West Virginia.
“I always enjoyed working with Mike; he will be greatly missed in the West Virginia legislature.
"My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Ruth, and to his loved ones."
