The West Virginia Department of Agriculture will sponsor “Agriculture Day at Power Park” Saturday, May 14, at West Virginia Power Park. Special events will start at 6:45 p.m. when members of the West Virginia Power and the Kannapolis Intimidators square off for a cow-milking contest. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
“Food and agriculture are essential parts of summer, and we appreciate the Power recognizing the Department and allowing us to reach out to the people in the Kanawha Valley,” said Commissioner Douglass. “Staff members have a number of agriculture-related activities planned and the evening should be fun for all ages.”
Throughout the ball game, WVDA personnel will print souvenir photos of kids with baby farm animals, and Power Park officials will conduct agriculture-related contests between innings. In addition, WVU Extension Service will give away “WV63” tomato plants.
