Keyser, W.Va. – A workshop that explains how to start your own business is slated for 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 17, in Keyser. Sponsored by the West Virginia Small Business Development Center (WVSBDC) and the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce, “How to Start a Small Business” will be held in the third floor conference room, Grand Central Business Center.
There is no fee. Registration is required at least two days in advance. To register, call 304- 530-4964.
The workshop addresses the major elements of planning a small business, an essential tool for successfully managing a business and borrowing money. Business plan elements include startup issues, legal structure, licensing and record keeping. Coaching will be offered to new and existing small business owners on developing financing proposals, including business plans, budgets and financing options.
The West Virginia Small Business Development Centers are part of the West Virginia Development Office and work with colleges, universities and other host institutions to provide cost-effective business coaching and technical assistance statewide. The SBDC is a program that is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The SBA cannot endorse any products, opinions or services of any external parties or activities.
