SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia’s state operated golf courses offer daily greens fee specials. “Our golf specials encourage golf play by seniors, ladies, youth and afternoon play,” according to Brian Wetzel, golf professional at Twin Falls State Park.
Some of the daily golf specials at
Twin Falls,
Pipestem and
Cacapon resort state parks include:
• a $16 greens fee is extended to golfers with valid college identification;
• an evening walking special after 4 p.m. is $16, and
• golfers 60 years of age and older receive 10 percent off greens fees.
Pipestem and Twin Falls courses both offer a Monday and Thursday “buy one greens fee and get one free” special. At Twin Falls this offer is available at 1 p.m. and at Pipestem the Monday and Thursday offer begins at 2 p.m.
Twin Falls and Pipestem offer
Ladies Day specials. Ladies teeing off prior to noon on Wednesday at Twin Falls have a 50 percent off greens fee rate. At Pipestem, Ladies Day is Tuesday and the greens fee is $25 for 18-hole play and includes shared motorized golf cart.
Twin Falls encourages
seniors age 60 and older to tee off prior to noon for a 50 percent greens fee reduction.
Junior golfers, age 18 and younger, get the same deal, but on Friday after noon.
Both Twin Falls and Pipestem have a new program called “Youth With Drive.” A player age 17 and younger gets 50 percent off green fee every day when playing with a paying adult at Twin Falls and Pipestem golf course as part of the
“Youth With Drive” program.
“For golf to be a lifetime sport or leisure pursuit, we need to continue to introduce youth to the game,” said Dave Caplinger, superintendent at Pipestem Resort. “We encourage adults to bring a young person to the course.”
Cacapon,
Canaan Valley and
Stonewall also have course specials, packages and special rate options. For more golf information, visit
