CHARLESTON, W.Va. ─ A delegation of West Virginia businesses is now exhibiting at a mining equipment show in Sydney, Australia.
The expedition to the 2011 Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition is being led by West Virginia Development Office (WVDO) International Division. Held once every four years, the Asia-Pacific exhibition attracts international suppliers of mining technology, equipment and services for underground and surface mining. More than 600 exhibitors and 12,000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s show, which runs Sept. 6 – 9.
Companies staffing exhibit booths in the West Virginia Pavilion are:
Becker Mining America, Barboursville;
Cabin Creek Inc., Triadelphia;
ChemBio Shelter, Beaver;
Eastern Mining & Industrial Supply, Chapmanville;
Preiser Scientific, St. Albans; and
Phillips Machine Service, Beckley.
West Virginia companies exhibiting at the show independently are:
J.H. Fletcher & Co., Huntington;
Kanawha Scales and Systems, Poca;
The Moore Company, Charleston;
Richwood Industries, Huntington; and
Saber Supply, Beckley.
During the first half of 2011, West Virginia exported $22 million to Australia. The state’s top export was machinery.
The WVDO export program services include export counseling, organizing trade events, recommending translation services and more.
The next show on the WVDO schedule ─ China Coal & Mining Expo in October 2011 ─ is already filled. Upcoming events currently still accepting business registrations are a trade mission to Turkey, open to all industries, April 1 – 7, 2012; and the ExpoMin mining trade show in Chile, April 9 – 13, 2012.
