9/17/2010
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Joe Manchin will today tour tornado-damaged Wood County with the Director of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Jimmy Gianato, to assess the damage done by yesterday’s storm. The governor will arrive in the Belleville area around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and communities in Wood County affected by this tornado,” said Manchin. “Right now my main concern is the safety and well-being of our residents” said the governor.
After assessing the damage, the governor will make a decision in requesting a federal disaster declaration, so it is important that residents report damages. To report damages, please contact your local 911 center.
