Workforce West Virginia To Hold Resource Fair For Dislocated Workers And Their Families

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – WorkForce West Virginia invites dislocated workers and their families in the southeastern region of the state to attend one of two Community Resource Fairs scheduled for June.

Fairs are scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Greenbrier West High School in Rainelle, and Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Beckley-Raleigh Convention Center. Both fairs will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include optional information sessions at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Representatives and officials from educational, community, state and federal agencies will be on site during these resource fairs to discuss services and resources available to dislocated workers and their families. Information provided includes unemployment compensation benefits, education and training opportunities, health care for children and local family support programs.

The event is open to the public. Dislocated workers from the following Region 1 WorkForce West Virginia counties are encouraged to attend: Fayette, Greenbrier, McDowell, Mercer, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Summers, Webster and Wyoming counties.
