FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Regional Forester Rudy Williams announced today that as part of the Division of Forestry's reorganization plan, the Berkeley Springs office has been consolidated with the Inwood office. Morgan County residents needing forestry services may contact the Inwood workstation by phone at (304) 229-2665 or the Romney office at (304) 822-4512. The Inwood workstation is located within the Department of Agriculture's offices at 145 Pilgrim Street.
Williams said the effort is part of the Division of Forestry's continuing efforts at cost savings. "This move will streamline our operations in line with the Forestry Division's reorganization," Williams added.
The reorganization of the Division of Forestry is part of Governor Joe Manchin's "responsible government" initiative and is designed to make the agency more efficient and cost effective. Division of Forestry Director Randy Dye announced plans to reorganize the agency in 2005.
