CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Gov. Joe Manchin and emergency management officials this morning continue to tour flood-damaged areas in Mingo and Wyoming counties, hit by Saturday's flooding.
The governor is also expected to tour Logan County late afternoon/early evening Monday.
The Governor's Communications Office will release a statement from the governor and post photos of today's tour on the governor's official Web site, www.wvgov.org, later this evening.
State officials are currently awaiting assessments from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Preliminary Damage Assessment team in order to move forward on receiving a federal disaster declaration. The federal assessments will be taking place starting today.
The governor urges citizens to contact their local county emergency services offices to report flood and storm damages to their homes and businesses.
