Governor Amends Special Session Proclamation
8/18/2011
CHARLESTON, W.Va - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today filed an amended proclamation for the special session that begins at noon today. The call now includes two supplemental appropriation bills.
The first bill expires up to $15 million from the Lottery Commission's Revenue Center Construction Fund so the funds can be transferred into the Department of Transportation's Division of Highways. The second bill then appropriates up to $15 million to be used by the Division of Highways for the State Road Fund that is used to pave the state's secondary roads.
"Many West Virginians rely on the state's secondary roads to conduct their daily lives," said Gov. Tomblin. "This transfer of funds allows the state to increase its secondary road program and will be distributed among the state's ten Highways districts."
