CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Joe Manchin today announced three Land and Water Conservation Fund grant awards totaling $220,000 to the cities of New Martinsville, Ronceverte and Williamstown for community development projects.
New Martinsville received $20,000 to enclose an existing picnic shelter for much needed park storage and also to construct a larger picnic shelter at Bruce Park.
Ronceverte received $100,000 to complete Phase II of the skateboard park along with many upgrades to the infrastructure at Island Park.
Williamstown received $100,000 to help fund the design and construction of a new swimming pool complex.
“These Land and Water Conservation Fund grant awards create a better quality of life for West Virginians and continue to improve the communities in our state,” Manchin said. “The Land and Water Conservation Fund grant program is one way we can be involved in the enrichment of West Virginia’s communities for the future.”
Administered by the West Virginia Development Office, the Land and Water Conservation Fund grant program supports community development and improvement projects that provide a suitable living environment and expand economic opportunities.
