CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Joe Manchin today awarded American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) funding through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) totaling $11,081,304 to community action agencies throughout West Virginia. The Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity administers the grants dispersed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Administration for Children and Families.
Services provided under this program are available to low-income West Virginia residents who qualify at or below 200 percent of the poverty guidelines established annually by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. The grant money supports community stabilization programs and assists low-income families with comprehensive approaches to self-sufficiency, including education, health care and emergency services.
