CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Gov. Joe Manchin has ordered all U.S. and state flags (under Public Law 103-322), displayed at state facilities lowered to half-staff the entire day of Friday, May 15, in commemoration of all federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
“Our men and women in uniform give their all each and every day to ensure public safety and maintain order around this state and our country. While we take this day to honor those who have fallen in the line of duty, our thoughts also go out to the families of these men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice,” said Gov. Manchin.
The governor said, “We are truly are grateful for the services that our first responders provide and for their willingness to go into harm’s way when called upon.”
