CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today issued a proclamation ordering all U.S. and state flags displayed at state facilities be lowered to half-staff immediately as a mark of respect for the victims of an attack of violence that was perpetrated in Tucson, Arizona on Jan. 8, 2011.
Six victims died including a United States District Judge, State of Arizona and fourteen victims were injured including a United States Congresswoman from the State of Arizona.
“Joanne and I would like to express our most heartfelt sympathy for the victims of the senseless shootings in Arizona on Saturday,” said Gov. Tomblin. “We send out our thoughts and prayers to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and all 14 individuals who were injured as a result of this tragedy.”
All flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011.
