The Governor released the following statement after learning of the retention of the 130th Airlift Wing's C-130s:

“This is great news for West Virginia. Maj. Gen. Allen Tackett and the men and women of the 130th Airlift Wing represent the best of West Virginia. They are always there to answer the call and report for duty, regardless of where it may take them.

“West Virginians, as well as those outside our borders, are dependent on the protection and security provided by the West Virginia National Guard and these aircraft.

“I thank our congressional delegation for fighting to keep our military resources here in our state. West Virginia will truly benefit from this decision.”
