ROANOKE, W.Va. – On Monday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at Stonewall Resort State Park, Gov. Joe Manchin will formally receive an important interstate cooperative agreement that will enable Division of Natural Resources conservation officers to better enforce the state’s wildlife laws. With this agreement, West Virginia will be joining 31 other states in the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact.
Gov. Manchin will accept the agreement during a banquet held as part of the annual Governor’s One Shot Whitetail Hunt. This is the third year for the One Shot event, which raises money to support DNR’s Hunters Helping the Hungry program.
DNR Director Frank Jezioro and officials with the DNR Law Enforcement Section will present the agreement to the governor. Also attending the banquet will be Brig. Gen. Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager, USAF, Retired.
