House of Delegates Redistricting Legislation Contains Technical Errors
8/10/2011
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today announced that he anticipates calling members of the Legislature back into session, beginning early next week.
The House of Delegates has confirmed that there are technical errors in its redistricting bill, House Bill 106. While the Governor has not yet received the enrolled version of the legislation, our review of the engrossed version of the bill confirms that technical errors will require the Governor to veto the legislation. The Governor has been working with the legislative leadership and plans to call the legislature back into special session next week so that the House can revisit its redistricting plan.
