Statement From Gov. Manchin About His Appointment Of Mike Ross To Fill House 37th District Seat

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Joe Manchin today released the following statement after appointing former state senator Mike Ross to fill the West Virginia House of Delegates 37th District seat, left vacant by the Dec. 23 passing of longtime Del. William D. Proudfoot.
“Based upon his experience and prior service to the State of West Virginia, his ability to step into the legislative process quickly, as well as his long-time friendship and knowledge of Del. Bill Proudfoot and his work, I have decided to appoint Mike Ross to serve out Del. Proudfoot’s remaining term.
“I have spoken to Del. Proudfoot’s widow, Lynn, about this appointment and want to thank her for her input on behalf of the Proudfoot family. Bill was a truly special man who will continue to be greatly missed.”
