CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Joe Manchin today released the following statement after appointing businessman and educator Terry Walker, of Kearneysville, to fill the West Virginia House of Delegates 56th District seat, left vacant by the resignation of Del. Bob Tabb last month:
“I truly appreciate the extensive public service of Del. Bob Tabb,” Gov. Manchin said. “Del. Tabb represented his constituents well during the past several years and I am sure that he will apply the same dedication to his new position with the West Virginia’s Department of Agriculture.
“Terry Walker is an excellent choice for this House seat. Terry is very involved in his community and he will bring a clear, strong and balanced voice to Charleston. I am confident that he will represent the residents of Berkeley and Jefferson counties very well. I look forward to working with him to continue to move West Virginia forward.” - Gov. Joe Manchin
