Gov. Joe Manchin released the following statement this morning after learning about the death of Randolph County Del. William D. Proudfoot:

“I have known Bill Proudfoot for more than 20 years. We’ve had a long friendship and there was not a finer human being, father, husband or legislator. This is a loss not only for the people of Randolph County but for the entire state. He was one of the most positive people I’ve ever known.”
