Statement From the Governor About the Passing of Don Cook
4/23/2010
Gov. Joe Manchin today released the following statement after learning about the passing of well-known West Virginia broadcaster Don Cook:
“Don Cook fought a very courageous battle through illness and I am sorry to hear of his passing. Don had such a positive outlook on life and he enjoyed being around the people who he intermingled with. Don was a person who was certainly not bashful about voicing his opinion.
“I had the opportunity to visit Don prior to his passing and I enjoyed the long conversation that we had. Don touched the lives of many West Virginians through his work as a public servant with the Treasurer’s Office and as a broadcaster; I know that he will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Linda and daughter Sarah and the entire Cook family.”
