Charleston â West Virginia Insurance Commissioner, Jane L. Cline, announced today that the Offices of the Insurance Commissioner will be holding a special event next month focusing on the opening of West Virginiaâs workersâ compensation market.
The Offices of the Insurance Commissioner, in conjunction with the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) is holding a forum September 5, 2007 specifically designed to provide workersâ compensation carriers with the information needed to begin writing business in West Virginia.
âExciting changes have occurred in West Virginia creating a new, open and competitive market beginning July 1, 2008,â Cline said. âWe encourage workerâs compensation carriers to attend the forum to learn about the expanding opportunities that West Virginiaâs open market will provide and what companies can do to participate.âÂ
This forum is a valuable opportunity for senior management to learn first hand of what is being experienced in West Virginia and provide answers to questions relative to this new market opportunity. Participants will learn about the changes that have occurred, NCCIâs role and what workersâ compensation carriers must do to take advantage of the quickly approaching open market date.
