 Insurance Commissioner Announces Upcoming Workers’ Compensation Conference

Charleston – West Virginia Insurance Commissioner, Jane L. Cline, announced today that the Offices of the Insurance Commissioner will be holding a special event next month focusing on the opening of West Virginia’s workers’ compensation market.

The Offices of the Insurance Commissioner, in conjunction with the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) is holding a forum September 5, 2007 specifically designed to provide workers’ compensation carriers with the information needed to begin writing business in West Virginia.

“Exciting changes have occurred in West Virginia creating a new, open and competitive market beginning July 1, 2008,” Cline said.  “We encourage worker’s compensation carriers to attend the forum to learn about the expanding opportunities that West Virginia’s open market will provide and what companies can do to participate.” 

This forum is a valuable opportunity for senior management to learn first hand of what is being experienced in West Virginia and provide answers to questions relative to this new market opportunity.  Participants will learn about the changes that have occurred, NCCI’s role and what workers’ compensation carriers must do to take advantage of the quickly approaching open market date.
