Love Letters. Over the course of a lifetime, two friends remember their relationship throughout their loves and marriage and is the storyline for this two person play. Scheduled for Valentine's Day, February 14, Chief Logan Lodge in Logan County is the host site for this play and dinner. Presented by the Aracoma Story, Inc., the two-act play is "great couples evening," according to Melissa Brown, Lodge Manager. "There is a choice of attending the dinner theater or taking advantage of our overnight package at the lodge."
The overnight package for Valentines Day includes prime rib dinner, the play "Love Letters," and overnight accommodations for two. The cost is $109. Dinner and play only is $30 per person. Use of the indoor pool, fitness center, and hot tub are part of the lodge offerings as well as wireless Internet access. Reservations are required. "When guests have advance reservation for these special events, it allows us to have everything ready so the evening is about the event," Brown explains. "Our service focuses on our guests and not last minute preparations." Individuals have an option of enjoying dinner only in the Lodge restaurant. For reservations for the dinner theater, package or restaurant only, call (304) 855-6100.
Chief Logan, Hotel and Conference Center is West Virginia State Parks' newest lodge and in its second year of operation. Opening in late July of 2006, the facility is located on U.S. 119 between Chapmanville and Logan.
Known as the "conference center" to area residents, the facility can seat up to 400 for a day event or comfortably accommodate overnight groups up to 150. The restaurant is a full-service operation and caters to group needs as well as the individual diner. The addition of the upscale 75-room lodge allows the park system the flexibility of creating overnight packages as well as special events such as this Valentine's Day Dinner Theater, according to Blair Taylor, the lodge administrator for the state park system.
