 Steal Away for Jazz at Hawks Nest State Park March 6 

3/2/2010  ANSTED, W.Va. – A jazz performance by “Stolen Moments” will be the featured entertainment March 6 at the next dinner theater event at Hawks Nest State Park. The musicians are members of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

“This group of experienced and talented individuals enjoys interaction with smaller audiences in addition to full symphony productions,” according to Megan Hash, Programmer at Hawks Nest. “The evening and dinner is a wonderful change of pace. If you like jazz music and good food, this is the time to visit and enjoy Hawks Nest.”

Playing a wide variety of jazz, Stolen Moments has something for everyone. Having worked with notable performers such as Tony Bennett, Kathleen Battle, Frank Gambale, Kathie Mattea and Dave Brubeck, and having performed with ensembles like the West Virginia and Ohio Valley Symphonies, the members of Stolen Moments bring a lifetime of music to the stage. Quartet Members Ron Oxley, Terry Roush, Jim Florkevich, and Scott Milam have studied music in many different settings, including Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Morehead State University, Berkley University of Boston, West Virginia University, and Marshall University. Along with performing, many of the members teach and work in the local music community.

Hawks Nest Dinner Theaters are staged in the park restaurant. Seating begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 and show at 7:30. An overnight package is available for a night away or opt for a dinner and jazz performance evening only.

Dinner entrees at Hawks Nest Dinner Theaters, served by Canyon Vista Restaurant, are a choice of Top Quality Filet Mignon, Walnut-Glazed Salmon, or Grilled Chicken Breast with mushrooms. The meal includes sides, beverage and dessert.

·         Based on a double-occupancy, the dinner theater complete package is $158.00. 

·         For a dinner theater only package, guests pay $50.74 for each adult, $35.74 for each child (age 12 yrs and under).
