Why: West Virginia is among 22 States who are members of the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board. This national organization helps make conducting business in a fast paced world easier for business owners by agreeing to administer a simple, more uniform sales and use tax system.
During the three day meeting, Streamlined Sales Tax members will study, propose, and make necessary amendments to the streamlined sales tax agreement under design and in use today.
The outcome of the conference will affect West Virginia taxpayers and businesses. The Streamlined Sales Tax Project has shaped West Virginia law pertaining to the current Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday and the recent decrease in the sales tax on food.
