Cyber Security Advisor – Mid-Atlantic Region

Mr. Willke is currently serving as the Cyber Security Advisor for the Mid-Atlantic Region, within the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) National Cyber Security Division’s (NCSD). His program works to foster collaboration and coordination on cyber preparedness, risk mitigation and incident response, and provide cyber security resources, including exercises and assessments, across all 18 Critical Infrastructure Key Resources (CIKR) sectors and with state and local government.
Prior to joining DHS, Mr. Willke led field studies and research and development projects in information security risk and vulnerability assessment for over 10 years while in the Software Engineering Institute’s CERT® program. Mr. Willke served in the United States Air Force as a law enforcement specialist and unit computer security manager while at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WY. He holds a B.S. in Information Systems Technologies from Southern Illinois University and a graduate certificate in Information Protection and Security from the University of New Haven. Mr. Willke is currently pursuing a M.S. in Legal Studies with a specialization in Homeland Security from California University of Pennsylvania.

Cyber Resilience and Homeland Security
The Cyber Security Advisor program is part of the Department of Homeland Security’s outreach and awareness mission for the protection of Critical Infrastructure / Key Resource (CIKR) communities and state, local, territorial, and tribal governments. The primary mission of the CSA program is “To provide direct coordination, outreach, and regional support and assistance in the protection of cyber components essential to the Nation’s CIKR.”
In this presentation, Bradford Willke, CSA for Region III, will provide an overview of the CSA program – including updates on national cyber initiatives, such as: CyberStorm III, the Industrial Control System Computer Emergency Readiness Team (ICS-CERT), the National Cyber Incident Response Plan (NCIRP), CIKR cyber security evaluations, and other topical information.
