Latest Jobs & Hopes class honored


​Gov. Jim Justice honored the latest class of the Jobs & Hopes West Virginia program Wednesday with certificates recognizing their efforts.

Nine people completed the heavy equipment operations course — which involved four weeks of training led by the West Virginia National Guard — to earn an OSHA 10 certification. Participants also received interview training and resume-building lessons as part of the program.

The Jobs & Hopes West Virginia program provides training and education to West Virginians who have not secured jobs because of addiction and drug misuse. The state launched the program in October 2019, and more than 1,500 people have got a job because of the free program.
