Apprentices are getting a head start on careers in manufacturing through the Manufacturing Tech Accelerator at RCBI.
Participants are learning the skills they need to succeed in entry-level positions in manufacturing. RCBI’s Apprenticeship Works initiative offers the program at no cost.
Chandler Call, 20, and Jacob Marsh, 20, signed up for the program to learn more about the core skills of welding and machining. The friends and former classmates at Cabell-Midland High School have enjoyed the program so far and would recommend it to others.
“Everyone says you need to go to college, but college isn’t for everybody,” Chandler said. “We need the skilled workers. Blue-collar workers make the world go around.”
