Cash use will continue to decline but not disappear completely, West Virginia experts say

CLARKSBURG — Cash, once king at the cash register, now runs second fiddle to plastic.

Even though studies show credit and debit cards are about as “dirty” when it comes to carrying virus particles as cash, some don’t want to touch paper money anymore.

Also, as digitization continues worldwide, new technologies continue to become available to make paying for goods and services easier and more effortless, such as Square and Apple Pay.
