Chance for more shots in arms: Vaccination target expanded in West Virginia

3/28/2021

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The target just got bigger.

West Virginia is immediately opening coronavirus vaccine eligibility to all residents aged 16 and older.

“Beginning right now, if you're 16 years of age and you want to get vaccinated, you get into one of our clinics or whatever it may be and we'll get it done,” Gov. Jim Justice announced Monday during a news conference.

Getting shots into arms 65 and older remains the priority. State data showed that nearly 25% of the total population was partially vaccinated as of Monday.
