Charles Town receives $250,000 earmark for downtown revitalization program


Amid nearly $250 million in congressionally directed funding secured by Sen. Shelley Moore Capito recently, Charles Town was awarded $250,000 under the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development monies to be used in its Revive Grant program.
The Revive Grant focuses on revitalizing existing buildings in the area with a focus on bringing more retail and restaurants to downtown. The money will go a long way as the pilot round of grants given by the city went to just three of several applicants.
To receive the full $250,000 asked for was exciting news for Charles Town.
